Mentors

Their expertise, insight and commitment to fostering meaningful connections have been key to shaping a programme that truly empowers our mentors and design teams. They have built something that will have a lasting impact

Cecilia Brenner, Managing Director

“We need to build a first of it’s kind mentorship program to support our design teams in delivering valuable, viable solutions for our NGO partners.”

Design for Good (DfG) approached us with a unique challenge. Experience had identified skills gaps in the design teams formed by volunteers in their alliance partners. They needed to provide further support to these teams to guide them through their projects and arrive at solutions that deliver greater impact.

Our approach

Working in close partnership with the DfG team we defined the structure for a mentorship program that would guide their teams through projects, supporting them in delivery and direction without taking the lead on the projects themselves.

This included identifying the skills needed, the experience requirements, the profile types and the responsibilities of mentors.

We then leveraged our global network of experts to onboard mentors to each of the 30 project teams.

Outcome

Design for Good has launched its first-ever mentorship program, providing ongoing support from industry experts in Research and Design. They are driving greater impact for their NGO partners.

We’ve onboarded 30 mentors globally from leading organisations such as Google, Ford, JP Morgan, IBM, Tesco, Dyson, and many more.

Projects are ongoing and we continue to support both the mentors and Design for Good as an organisation.
